Iain McKinnon Access Consultants have been providing a comprehensive service to our clients since January 2009.
We have extensive experience on a number of varied projects from large new build developments to access audits of ancient monuments.
Our experience covers a wide variety of building sectors including; historic, sports and leisure, transport, health, residential, public, master-planning, museums and galleries, theatres, offices, retail and education.
Recent projects include:
• A new archive and office facility being developed by Stephen Marshall Architects, London
• Development of new Accessible Design Standards for sportscotland
• Review of emergency evacuation for disabled occupants at the new Ravenscraig Regional Sports Facility
• Proposed refurbishment of 21-23 Main Street, Coatbridge for the purposes of planning
• Accessibility of tiling treatments during the refurbishment of James Watt College, Greenock
• Design competition for a new, innovative pool lift to help disabled people get in and out of swimming pools with dignity
Recent presentations include:
• Guest speaker to 3rd year architecture students at the University of Strathclyde on ‘the DDA and inclusive design’
• Presentation on ‘the DDA and inclusive design – an access consultant’s perspective’ for the Centre for the Built Environment CBE, Glasgow
